The Community Association is a “we” organization.Our successes belong to North Park, not to any one Director and not to any one section of the community.This is an important principle that guides our commitment as Directors and it is one that we all seek to foster.A cleaner, more livable, more business-friendly North Park benefits us all and so we struggle and succeed together.
The following is a list of core areas that the Community Association is involved in:
Service Core Areas:
Community Clean-ups/Stop Graffiti Campaign: This important core area involves working with neighbors, businesses, property owners, and the city of San Diego to protect our environment and keep the neighborhood clean.
Strengthening ALL of North Park: The NPCA looks for ways to help ensure that all of North Park is clean, safe, economically strong, walkable, and friendly. We are helping to lead the ALBA/North Park Community Partnership and supporting efforts along El Cajon Boulevard and to the north as part of these efforts.
NPCA Website:A source of information about the entire community, the website provides a central location for planning events and keeping all North Park neighborhoods informed.
Simplify Volunteering: Whether you are a high school student looking for class credit or a neighbor looking to get involved, we strive to make it easy for anyone who wants to volunteer to do so. If you have an interest in volunteering or a creative way to get involved, we want to help you make it happen.
Social Core Areas:
Bird Park Summer Concerts:Efforts in this area include everything from choosing bands to raising money and staffing the concerts. This program is free to the community and helps everyone enjoy the neighborhood and meet some new friends.
Community Mixers: This partnership with local businesses is a great way for neighbors to get to know each other and it helps provide new patrons to local restaurants at the same time. Mixers are free to Community Association members and the Community Association coordinates these events.
Member Discount Program: A key program that partners the NPCA with local businesses to keep our neighbors reinvesting their money in our community.
The Toyland Parade: Board members also take an active role in the annual Toyland Parade during the holiday season.The parade is one of the oldest and most beloved North Park traditions.
