FUNDING OF THE NORTH PARK MINI-PARK

Last weekend we asked you to let Councilmember Gloria know of your support of funding for the Mini-Park behind the North Park Theatre. On Monday morning we received an email from the Councilmember's office, assuring us that he is fully supportive of the proposed "Enforceable Obligations Payment Schedule (EOPS) which includes that funding.

The EOPS was approved on Tuesday and the requested funding for the Mini-Park remains in the schedule. Councilmember Gloria suggests that the community now contact its State and County representatives and urge them to uphold the Redevelopment Agency's EOPS. Here are the representatives to contact to voice your support for the funding in the next phase of review:

During the site tour the project applicant team will describe the proposed project features. The workshop will provide Boardmembers and members of the public an opportunity to comment on the information presented during the site tour.

University Heights Community Forum Series - Thursday, 2/9
Visioning a Future for University Heights - Kristin Harm, UH Historical Society - The session will focus on providing information about San Diego's General Plan and community plan update process, and generating community recommendations for UH, in anticipation of release of the draft Uptown Community Plan.

Florida Canyon Work Party - Saturday, 2/11
The Friends of Florida Canyon will do restoration and cleanup of the California Native Plant Demonstration Garden near the Morley Field tennis courts.

Ray at Night Art Walk - Saturday, 2/11
Ray At Night is San Diego's longest running monthly artwalk now in its 11th Year! Come and enjoy new art by local and nationaly known artists at the over 30 gallery and business venues.

To be eligible to run for the Board, or to vote in the election, you must have a valid Registration Form on file & have signed in at one NPPC Board meeting between March 2011 and February 2012 (last eligible meeting is February 21st).

North Park Festival of Arts - Sunday, 5/20 - showcases a variety of artistic expressions. The festival committee is accepting juried artist applications.

Urban Corps of San Diego County
Using state-of-the-art equipment, Urban Corps members annually remove graffiti from over 4-million square feet of wall space and sidewalks.The Urban Corps is an integral part of NPCA's Stop Graffiti Now! program.

The California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating change for a clean energy future. Free workshops, incentive programs, special events, and technical assistance.
Passes available from 2/1 at any Macy's, free while supplies last. With a pass, up to four visitors can gain admission to 40 participating museums, half-price, all of February.
