Locals talk about North Park from their perspectives

I had a blast playing Bocce Ball over the weekend with family & friends.  Most of us were Bocce Ball virgins.  Turns out it's a simple game to learn, very relaxing to play, and is doable for kids and seniors alike.  Even my friends who "never play sports" joined in.

The Bocce Ball courts on Upas in Morley Field provide an excellent setting with all the necessary amenities; the perfect combination of sun and shade, a close bathroom, lots of green grass, nearby parking, a cool breeze from the west, and no crowds.

Though the name congers up images of old Italian guys in Florida, it's becoming a popular sport with all kinds of people.

I've seen hardcore Bocce Ball players criticize these courts for not being level and such.  Quite frankly, we never noticed.  It was the perfect low-budget Sunday afternoon activity.  We're definitely going back for more.

Try it out.  A decent Bocce Ball set at Target is just $35.00.
