Locals talk about North Park from their perspectives

Chloe says: I became fascinated with the holiday Day of the Dead after spending time studying in Mexico.  I loved how people celebrated the dead, taking time to remember those who have passed and to honor them by creating altars in their homes or going to the cemetery, cleaning and decorating the graves of their dearly departed.  I believe this holiday is very important to all of us, a time that is dedicated to remembering those who have been in our lives, but have passed on.  I think it is healthy to remember those people and to view death not as a dark and scary event, but as part of the natural cycle of life. Day of the Dead is celebrated November 1st and 2nd.

I'm a newly-converted coffee fan. Having grown-up in a Mormon family, coffee was always forbidden. But now that I'm a devout agnostic, all bets are off.

My first attempt at trying coffee was from a vending machine at work. Probably not the best choice for a first-timer. I didn't care for it then, and so I just kinda forgot about it for awhile.

Here's what I want to know.  Seems like there were lots of people in the last couple months carrying on every which way from Sunday about the status of the Grim Avenue Post Office.  Being the often lazy guy I can be, I admit when I saw the news article in the U-T I was a wee bit irritated.  Walking to the Post Office is one of the little pleasures of living in an urban area.  Susan Davis' office put out this press release.  The more I think about the closure, the less sense it makes.

I'm Gladys.  Yes, as in Kravitz.  I'm what you might call a busybody.  Not the nosy kind - the keenly interested kind.  (It's possible that not everyone appreciates the distinction.)  People utterly fascinate me.  Their houses fascinate me and their habits fascinate me.  Just what is it that makes them tick?  And tick together?  Sometimes I find out.  Mostly I don't.
